David is a highly skilled freelance trumpet artist based in Los Angeles. Recognized for his exceptional talent and versatility, he has collaborated with numerous renowned musical groups, including the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay, where he holds the position of principal trumpet. Additionally, he serves as principal trumpet for the Culver City Symphony and LAPC Orchestra, as well as associate principal trumpet in the Desert Symphony. David's exceptional musicianship has led him to perform with prestigious ensembles such as the San Francisco Opera, Bakersfield Symphony, Redlands Symphony, Dream Orchestra, Los Angeles Symphony, Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra, Los Angeles Jewish Symphony, Peninsula Symphony, Westside Ballet, Santa Monica Symphony, Jacaranda Chamber Ensemble, Southern California Brass Consortium, Brass Pacifica, Oakwood Brass Chamber Ensemble, and others.
David's trumpet playing has garnered high praise, as exemplified by Carole Bell from the Culver City Observer, who described it as "magnificent" during his recent performance of Aaron Copland's Quiet City with the Culver City Symphony.
In addition to his thriving performing career, David also dedicates his expertise as a Teaching Artist, imparting his knowledge to organizations such as Harmony Project and YOLA. In addition to maintaining an active private studio, David is also the trumpet teacher at the Pasadena Christian School.
Furthermore, David boasts an impressive background as the lead singer, keyboardist, and songwriter for the band The Leisurelies. The band released the studio album March to the Heart of the Sun, featuring upbeat and energetic songs that gained recognition in Scott Tanner Jones' film Take Care, released in 2012, and received airtime on KXLU Los Angeles. The Leisurelies have captivated audiences at historic venues throughout Los Angeles and Hollywood, headlining performances at The Troubadour, The Viper Room, House of Blues, The Knitting Factory, Silverlake Lounge, The Mint, and other notable locations.
David's musical journey also encompasses prominent collaborations with well-known bands, such as Yellowcard, for whom he recorded trumpet on the track "How I Go" at Capitol Records for their acclaimed album "Lights and Sounds." His trumpet playing and vocal harmonies are also showcased on "Soil," a captivating composition from Oddus' album "The Tree and the River." David has also performed with respected acts like Brandon and Leah, Mojo Stone, Handshakes, and Megaphonic. Currently, he serves as the trumpet player for Love Revisited, featuring Johnny Echols from the original band Love, and also records for the esteemed artist Kwanza Jones.
David attended the Cleveland Institute of Music on scholarship and studied with Michael Sachs, principal trumpet of the Cleveland Orchestra. After Cleveland he moved back home to Los Angeles and attended the University of Southern California on scholarship for his graduate studies, where he studied with Boyde Hood, utility trumpet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
David's exceptional talent as a brass chamber musician led him to become a member of the highly acclaimed Ilium Brass Quintet. This remarkable ensemble earned the prestigious distinction of being named the New Horizon Fellowship Brass Quintet at the Aspen Music Festival, where they had the privilege of working under the guidance of the renowned American Brass Quintet.
Reflecting on their collaboration with the Ilium Brass Quintet, the American Brass Quintet expressed their admiration, stating, "Perhaps the most significant part of the summer was working with a young brass quintet that was awarded a New Horizon fellowship to study with us. The Ilium Brass Quintet from Cleveland gave us a glimpse of the future of brass chamber music." The American Brass Quintet further highlighted the close interaction between the two groups, stating "the Ilium Brass Quintet left a lasting impact on the American Brass Quintet...collaborating with Ilium proved to be a truly satisfying experience for the ABQ."

David began playing trumpet in the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District in the 4th grade and began studying with Leon Russell in the 6th grade. After Mr. Russell passed away, David began studying with Steven Ravaglioli throughout high school. David was featured twice on the Disney Channel as principal trumpet with the Disney's Youth Symphony Orchestra which aired on the Disney Channel and the concerts performed at the Hollywood Bowl. David was a part of the Young Musician's Foundation Brass Quintet and performed several times on KUSC Live. David performed the Arutunian trumpet concerto with the Brentwood Symphony and the Hummel trumpet concerto with Pepperdine University Orchestra his senior year of high school. David was also drum major of Santa Monica High School Marching Band his senior year, where he received an Accommodation from mayor of the City of Santa Monica.
